Trick Bag - Original Music By Ray Lopatic & David Shenk
Trick Bag is a band that spanned three decades in the Harrisburg, PA area. Founded by Raczar (Ray Lopatic) in the late 70's, it prospered well into the new millenium. I joined the band in 1989 and played with him until 2002. Though there were many personnel changes, one thing remained static, it was the vocals and violin virtuosity of Ray Lopatic that carried it through thousands of gigs, one of the hardest working bands in the Central Pennsylvania area.
These compositions were recorded at the Production Block in Harrisburg, PA in 1993 in a 32-track analog studio. They were all recorded in one day including final mix. Anyone who has ever recorded knows what a Herculean effort that is.
Grim Reaper was recorded in one take without ever playing it live and was written by me in 1972. It became one of the most popular originals ever played by Trick Bag. The personnel on these recordings is listed on the main mp3 Music page. Even though the songs were written by Ray and myself, all were instrumental in arranging and producing these originals. The guitar I played on these recordings is a 1969 Les Paul Custom Deluxe Gold Top.
